Sales of electric cars are set to double this year. Range is the major deterrent but Renault is confident that the new Zoe will be a success. Based on the new Renault Clio, its 90-mile range (60 if it's cold) should be enough for most urban journeys. The price tag of £13,650 is also less offputting than some of the other zero-emission cars.
The Zoe's electric motor produces the equivalent of 88bhp and can make a choice of three sounds to let pedestrians know you're coming. This new Renault will hit showrooms in June. MG
